Recreational Retreat in the Netherlands

Ritual-based consciousness work within a professionally guided framework.

From 26 to 29 November 2026, the Psychedelia-Stiftung is holding its first private retreat format in the Netherlands. The offering is aimed at people who wish to engage with personal development, life questions, and spiritual deepening through structured ritual work.

Participants sit outdoors in a circle of chairs, with a Dutch brick house and wide meadows in the background.

What to expect

Ritual culture in a modern context

The retreat is explicitly non-therapeutic in orientation and understands itself as a cultivated experiential space for self-exploration and consciousness work. At its centre is a structured process of preparation, ritual experience, and integration.

Psilocybe sclerotia ("truffles") are used, whose use within the intended setting is legally permitted on site. The format is clearly distinguished from medical or therapeutic offerings. This is about responsibly designed ritual spaces, not the creation of an event. The experience alone is not what matters—what matters is its embedding in preparation and aftercare.

Process & framework

Structured process with a focus on integration

With a maximum of 16 participants, the retreat is deliberately kept exclusive, to ensure individual guidance and a protected group process.

The 3.5-day format includes:

  • Meditation, breathwork, and bodywork
  • Nature meditation and intention-setting
  • Guided ritual within a protected setting

Safety & guidance

Personal development instead of therapy

The Psychedelia-Stiftung positions the format within the field of personal development and spiritual practice. It is aimed at reflective adults who wish to engage with existential questions, biographical transitions, or personal reorientation within a clearly structured setting.

An application and preliminary interview process ensures that participants have the necessary maturity and sense of personal responsibility.

Facilitation

The retreat is led by the renowned psychonauts, researchers, and authors Claudia Müller-Ebeling and Markus Berger. Both have been recognised for decades as leading experts in ritual cultures and ethnopharmacological traditions.
